Bring the Fun to Group Fitness Classes with Crunch
6 Classes to Elevate Your Routine
Group fitness classes are extremely popular amongst individuals of all ages—especially post-pandemic as individuals desire the return to in-person exercise routines. They’re challenging and collaborative with just a hint of competitiveness. Not to mention, working out with your friends is both fun and motivational. That said, it might be difficult to know where to start. Group fitness classes are booming, which also means there are many to choose from. This can cause a newbie’s head to spin with all the possibilities.
Let’s explore six types of group fitness classes available at Crunch that perfectly combine fun with fitness.
Chisel It
For individuals who are interested in a fun, fast-paced workout that builds strength and brings the burn, Chisel It is an excellent option. It combines weight lifting and calorie-burning movements with brief periods of rest to effectively maximize participants’ time and energy.
A Focus on Sculpting Your Muscles
The focus of Chisel It classes is to focus on sculpting your muscles by using traditional weights and movements in a fast and coordinated manner. One option at select locations is Push the Perimeter.
Push the Perimeter—this combination class features superset strength sequences alternated with fast and furious drills around the studio’s perimeter. Participants utilize barbells, dumbbells, slam balls, and kettlebells to work on their speed, agility, and quickness while using the room’s perimeter as four different exercises. The goal is to work through four as-many-reps-as-possible “sets” in a thirty-minute workout, where the participants work for one minute and execute as many reps as they can. These four sets are followed by a one-minute “push the perimeter” cardio round that challenges their strength and stamina.
The Ride
Gone are the days of mundane workouts. The Ride series is an excellent option to move your body, tone your legs, and challenge your mind to appreciate the grind. Track progress week-by-week and participate in a fun routine that is a hybrid combination of mixing low intensity with alternating periods of all-out speed.
Channel Your Inner Cyclist
The Ride focuses on channeling your inner cyclist or sculpting it from the ground up with guided instruction, a motivational environment, and fun fellow participants. One option at select locations is Team Ride by Swerve.
Team Ride by Swerve—Swerve takes indoor cycling to the next level with its immersive, live-streaming experience built on the power of team sports. Elite trainers deliver beat-and-power-based challenges that get your body into the rhythm and give your mind something to work for. Throw in a little friendly competition, and you’ve got yourself a good time that’s good for your health.
Mind Body Burn
Crunch’s Mind Body Burn series is “ommm-azingly strengthening” and not to mention fun. Classes average one hour in duration and combine concentrated movements and gentle yoga with a focus on participants’ mental well-being.
Strengthen Your Mind & Body
This series aims to strengthen your mind and body through exercises that complement natural body movements with a focus on stabilizing the core. Participants can accomplish this through an intense mobility-based workout or a relaxed workout focused on coordination. Two options at select locations are Ground Level and Hot Yoga.
Ground Level—a unique interval class focusing on bodyweight strength and core training. Participants utilize ground-level drills and standing rest periods known as “level-up breaks” to create a one-of-a-kind workout that will leave them strong and steady. Strength drills inspired by animal movement patterns with crushing core exercises help to define, shape, and sculpt the body in only 30 minutes. This unique workout features seven sets, each with a different mobility-based movement and a different core exercise designed to push your limits and challenge your mind and body.
Hot Yoga—participants turn it up a notch with yoga in a heated room. Generate holistic energy while performing a series of yoga postures in this challenging class.
Crunch offers something for everyone regardless of your health and fitness goals and background. The key is to understand that group fitness classes aren’t intimidating; they’re supportive.
Cardio & Dance Rhythms
Cardio and dance rhythm workouts are a craze of the twentieth century. They combine fun with fitness and offer participants an excellent alternative to traditional workouts.
Feel the Rhythm & the Burn
Crunch’s catchphrase for this series is “feel the rhythm while you feel the burn.” The best part about cardio dance routines is that they’re so fun, they fly by, and participants finish feeling like they can’t even call it exercise. Of course, except for the fact that their heart is pumping, sweat dripping, and muscles burning—they’ll realize that later. One option at select locations is Zumba class.
Zumba—Crunch’s trainers fuse hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a high-energy, calorie-blasting, total-body dance-based workout designed to tone participants’ bodies from head to toe. Dancing along to fast-paced upbeat tracks, this music-inspired movement is a great cardio exertion.
Action Sports
Action sports are popular activities for participants of all ages. They provide friendly competition, are a great cardio workout, push our minds and bodies to the next level, and create a sense of accomplishment. From strength-training movements to integrated breathing, it is an excellent way to build core strength and participate in group exercise.
Boost Your Heart Rate
The Action Sports series is meant to raise your heart rate and keep it in the prime fat-burning zone while also increasing your strength and endurance. It is fun, functional, and an all-out competition. One option at select locations is BattleHIIT Out.
BattleHIIT Out—the ultimate HIIT battleground. Participants work in teams of two to perform maximum reps at each station. This includes turf battle rounds where individuals face off in reaction drills to bring home the bragging rights in this all-in, all-out battleground workout.
Something Different
If none of the previous options quite spoke to you, don’t fear. Crunch offers something for everyone regardless of your health and fitness goals and background. The key is to understand that group fitness classes aren’t intimidating; they’re supportive. Participants accept those around them as they are and encourage them to work hard and achieve their goals.
Focus on Fun
For those individuals who are interested in something a little different, look no further. Another fun group fitness class is Fight Camp—a Crunch exclusive.
Fight Camp—for individuals who want to train like the pros in the ring, this class helps them become brilliant at the basics. This workout helps to hone participants’ boxing skills and sharpens their minds. Punch with power on the heavy bag, develop timing and fluidity in combinations, develop core stability, and train reaction time. In Fight Camp, participants walk away feeling like a champ, with strength, endurance, speed, and power to spare.
