Hot HIIT

Hot HIIT

August 27, 2024

Ignite the fire, then freeze in this hot take on HIIT.  In this 100-degree infrared experience, rounds of HIIT-based athletic exercise variations alternate with core stability movements to create an energizing workout that will challenge your stamina and build your endurance.

Why Try Hot HIIT?

Want to challenge your cardio endurance with a good dose of bodyweight strength? In this Hot HIIT format, embrace a workout that challenges you while detoxifying and reducing inflammation throughout the body using infrared heat.

What Is Hot HIIT Like?

Hot HIIT starts off with a 3-minute warm-up, then alternates increasingly fiery HIIT work with a 30-second isometric freeze segment. Ignite it for :30, simmer it for :40, then sear it for :50.  The end of the class has a 3-minute cooldown to help the body recover.

Who Are Hot Program Classes Best For?

Every program in the Hot Stuff studio is designed to meet every participant where they are, whether someone is new to exercise or a fitness pro. Each exercise has level options that leave participants feeling challenged but successful. The formats are fiercely fun, reliable workouts, each taught by a different rockstar instructor!

Is Hot HIIT a Good Workout?

Hot HIIT is a scorcher of a workout!  Insanely fun and fast-paced, this format will increase intensity AND time with every round of work.  Level options are, as always, your choice—you can opt to take them or stay at a level at which you feel comfortable and challenged at the same time.  Expect to get that heart rate up and keep it up the entire class!

How Difficult is Hot HIIT?

8/10. This class is pretty intense, but the addition of the 100-degree heat turns this class into a sweat fest from start to finish!  Exercises are easy to follow, and level options allow participants to choose their own athletic adventure!

How Long Is Each Class?

Hot HIIT consists of 30 minutes of 5 blocks of work, each with one “fire” HIIT exercise tiered up three times with an “ice” exercise of isometric work for 30 seconds in between the fire sets.

What Should I Wear?

Sweat-wicking fabrics are your friend for Hot HIIT or any program in the Hot Stuff studio. 100 degrees of infrared heat gently heat your skin, not the air temperature, allowing the natural level of humidity in the room (about 40%).  Clothes that fit close to your body work best to avoid a shirt flopping over your head in some of the exercises. As always, cover your business.

All programs in the Hot Studio are performed barefoot, so wear flip-flops or other shoes that are easy to pop off and drop in a cubby outside the studio just before walking in. This will help keep our floors clean and bacteria-free, which is important, since that’s where your face will be!

You might also consider bringing an extra towel and a change of clothes so you can pop in the shower after class so you can leave the gym clean and dry, without feeling soggy.

What Do I Need to Bring?

Bring your own mat to any program in the Hot Stuff studio. In addition, a mat towel to absorb sweat to prevent slipping is key. A hand towel might come in handy to quickly wipe down your face and arms in the middle of class as well.

Hydration should be top of mind, so bring a water bottle containing electrolytes to help replenish the minerals your body loses while sweating.
